How To Give Professional Car Wax?
In order to proceed with car waxing you need the following:
- Clean and dry car;
- Bottle of color match car wax;
- Clean terry cloth towels;
- Small sponge;
The main thing or “secret” how experts call it – is to clear and wash your car properly. Keep in mind that dirt can cause big scratches which you don’t want to appear on your car, do you? It is a proven fact that car’s paint will last longer if you will wash, clean and wax/polish your car ones a week.
Use specific Car Wash Shampoo as non-automotive products are too harsh. They will harm paint and finish of your car. Please use warm water instead of cold one as it works best to loosen contaminates. After your vehicle has been washed, use terry cloth towels or chamois, dry the car off.
- Useful tip – Experts advise to use a auto squeegee for that. It’ll be much faster and easier.
Check your vehicle. If you’ve noticed dirt, tar, bugs etc after washing – You can try and rewash these areas with a little more pressure to try. If it doesn’t help – use special car detailing products for that. They called “Bug And Tar Remover”, “Bug Remover” etc. Those products are usually being sold as sprays. Remove all the contaminants – follow the directions on the bottle and then rinse and dry.
Experts recommend doing 3 steps formula:
- Cleaner wax. For example: zymol liquid cleaner wax, meguiars cleaner wax, Turtle Wax
- Car polish. For example: klasse car polish, nu finish car polish, mothers car polish, liquid glass car polish
- High class carnauba car wax. For example: turtle wax carnauba car wax
Apply the 1st step to smooth out any imperfections in the paint.
Important:
- Avoid waxing your car with direct sun lights, park your car in the shade
- Car must be completely dry before you begin
There’s no need to use an expensive car wax – Turtle Wax or Zymol will do the job well. Apply amount that is equal to a tablespoon or so. Wax in a clockwise circular motions, slowly. Do one panel at the time, there’s no need to rush. Let the cleaner wax dry. Buff with a clean terry cloth towels.
- Useful tip – Experts recommend applying 2 coats to get best results
The 2nd step – Car polishing. Search for polymer car polish with Teflon in it as it’ll provide maximum protection and durability to your car. Apply polish in the same way as car wax – circular motions. Let it dry. Buff with a clean terry cloth towels. Most auto polishes come as liquid and will protect your car up to one year or 50-60 polishes.
The third and the final step. Apply high class carnauba wax. Do the same as you did with cleaner wax – circular motions, slowly, let it dry. Buff with a clean terry cloth towels or microfiber towels.
- Useful tip - Experts advise applying 2 to 3 coats to get best results.
N.B. Wash your towels and clothes for future waxing.

Now you know How To Give Professional Car Wax for a supreme finish. That is how they get that nice deep and shiny look at auto and motor shows! Yes, it is that simple!

Good tips, I have to say I prefer the microfiber towels to the terry cloth. mostly because they do not release lint or dust. A terry cloth will leave little cloth stands behind which is annoying and you have to go back and get with a duster. Wax often and let your car shine on!

Great car cleaning tips. I did wax my car but I now know I was doing it wrong
I also prefer the microfiber cloths. They seem to make my car extra shiny which is really the whole point of the waxing.

The wax should be dry. Cloth diapers are excellent clothes for removing wax. If not, a terry cloth towel will work. In the opposite counterclockwise direction, use small circles to buff the wax off your car. Use a moderate amount of pressure so that you are getting all the wax. Switch clothes or towels periodically so that you are not putting wax back onto your car’s surface that causes those pesky streaks we all hate.
I just take mine to the nearest car wash to do it! lol!

Excellent Car cleaning tips! It’s just what I need to know about. Thanks!
Is polishing really advisable every time you clean your vehicle as polish is mildly abrasive. Each time you polish your vehicle you are removing a fraction of the paint coat, which means that if you continually polish you will wear the paint out. Where as wax only coats the surface and protects the paintwork.
I prefer the microfiber cloths as well. They make my car extra shiny which is really the whole point of the waxing.

I also prefer the microfiber clothes because they offer great finish when you are waxing your car. Anytime I use a traditional cloth it will leave swirl marks which is so annoying.
microfiber is the only way to go. Really. Why would you use anything else?

Thanks for the tip…But I prefer it been done by a car wash guy.
If you really want to look after your car avoid using the machine washes at all costs. They can really damage the paint work as they are very abrasive – especially bad for older cars…

Waxing after polishing your car is a must. It will give your car a longer lasting shine and protection from the elements.
Well written and easy to follow how to wax your car instructions.
Thanks for the tips. I have been using automatic car washes a lot lately but there is no comparison to a professional waxing…Automatic car washes have also got a reputation for damaging paintwork as well which is another reason hand washes are so much better.

I go to car washing before but they bruised my car a little bit and I don’t want to trust again my car to car washers except when I need general cleaning of my car and air-condition. Now I prefer to wash my own car and use Turtle wax and polish. I think it is more trusted when you are the one hands on in your car.
Waxing gives your car natural shine and helps to protect the paint from harsh environment. When applied, the wax forms a thin transparent layer over the car paint. This layer covers minor scratches, stone chips and other damages, making them less visible. The wax also ‘seals’ the paint, preventing water from contacting the bare metal exposed in deep chips and scratches, slowing down the corrosion process. thanks for the great read .

A car wax gives shiny look to your car and helps to shield the paint from harsh environment, protecting it from fading. It takes only about 30 minutes to wax a whole car and high-quality car wax stays on the car for three – four months.
Very useful suggestion you have there. I use a regular piece of flannel to clean the Wax but I guess using microfiber towels is the best option to get the job done.
