Wow. Thanks for the tips . I'd like some advice on paint touch-up techniques.

My two-month old '95 M3 (Avus blue) has a few paint chips on the front.
I bought the official BMW paint stick, and after washing the car, I made
a go at touching up the chips.

Problem is, no matter how much I try to get the excess paint off the
small brush on the paint "stick", the pain has a tendency to glob up
rather than fill-in nicely.

So, am I stuck with this, or is there a trick to getting the touch-up
pain to nicely fill-in the chip?

Very useful suggestion you have there. I use a regular piece of flannel to clean the Wax but I guess using microfiber towels is the best option to get the job done.

Thanks for the great advice. I drive an 08 black Dodge truck. I agree with Grant that it is very difficult to keep a black car or truck nice and shiny.

I also use vacuum for the inside of my car. this really helps in eliminating the dusts and some nasty things inside. Aside from that, I avoid eating and smoking inside my ride just to make sure that stink will not develop inside my car.

Great article! But always remember to always make an effort even after cleaning the car. A simple gesture of avoiding smoking and eating in your car can make a difference.

A car wax gives shiny look to your car and helps to shield the paint from harsh environment, protecting it from fading. It takes only about 30 minutes to wax a whole car and high-quality car wax stays on the car for three - four months. When applied, the wax forms a thin transparent layer over the car paint. This layer covers minor scratches, stone chips and other damages, making them less visible. The wax also 'seals' the paint, preventing water from contacting the bare metal exposed in deep chips and scratches, slowing down the corrosion process.

Don't forget about the Collinite products. Insulator wax is my favorite.

Wash the car twice. If paint correction is needed do it now before you wax. You may wish to claybar or polish the vehicle before waxing. Apply very very thin with a foam applicator pad. Then only let it setup for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove it with a good quality micro fiber towel.
